MARITERE YSERN is a corporate, entertainment, and intellectual property attorney with more than 15 years of varied experience in the creative industries, having worked in commercials, corporate and music videos, short and feature films, and television series, including as a writer, director, and producer. She is also well-versed in the preparation and structuring of business, finance plans, and tax incentives.
Maritere is committed to the development of emerging filmmakers and entertainment and intellectual property law professionals. She offers seminars throughout the year at industry events, including the yearly short film competition Cortaditos by the Alliance Francaise de Puerto Rico. Maritere also volunteers as Mentor of the Intellectual Property and Startups Pro-Bono at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law.
Maritere holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law (2016) and a Bachelor of Arts in Audiovisual Communications with a Certificate in Film Studies from the University of Puerto Rico (2008).
